…is lost! But since a large group of people (4 max) have borderline molested me to get back to writing on my poor, neglected, possibly gone homicidal blog, I finally gave in, yet because of the fact that my muse is only alive during the days of pain and suffering that my beloved university offers, I had to wait until the best effing holiday of my life ended. Yes, the absolute best, the boss of all holidays. It is true that the days in Paris are eternally etched upon my soul as the best possible experience (at least one you can share with your best friends), but a care-free summer spent on the timeless streets of Florence and afterwards, on the beaches, boulevards and in the works of art of Barcelona really takes the whole concept of holiday to a new level. I wanted to write an in-depth article about Barcelona and I probably will one day when the melancholy will overcome me and drive me to tears, but there is just so much to say and so much to explain that I am afraid the Internet might overflow. See, in my obvious laziness I am only thinking about the greater good of the world. Still, perhaps one day…

Last year it was Paris, this year Florence. To make myself clear, I am talking about the one in Italy, not the numerous ones in America (they apparently have a Florence in most states there). I shouldn’t even have to mention the fact that it was awesome and perfect, but of course I will write an entire post about it. Enjoy!

Tis an uncertain world we live in, but there is and always will be one eternal, ultimate and undeniable truth: HBO know how to make TV series. A Game of Thrones is by far the best series I’ve seen in a long time, and it is right up there with Rome when it comes to my all time favourites. It is a gem, a gift from the gods bestowed upon us worthless and undeserving mortals.

Alas, I have not yet succumbed to natural or unnatural causes, except perhaps to my own laziness. I know I have not posted in ages, and to be honest, I was not going to any time soon, seeing as I am in finals and it’s much too hot outside, and I am bored out of my mind, and also, if I have not mentioned, I am in finals. Still, I feel like I will not be able to move on with my day unless I share my grievances. My present grievance, of course, for if I even attempt to enlist all that abuses my nerves, well…I will probably miss tomorrow’s exam due to the inability to leave the computer.

First of all, it is good to be back, but unfortunately, two of my favourite posts have disappeared and shall probably never be seen again. The reason is the same as that of my absence: hosting issues. Damn them! Alas, I mourn the loss of my Lupercalia entry, not only because it was a work of genius, but because it was vastly appreciated and read. The one about the Oscars is not really necessary since we all know that the Oscars 2011 were a travesty except for Natalie Portman and Christian Bale who totally deserved winning. But since I am back, I shall try not to delve on the past and write an actual entry, which I will most definitely back up because the Internet hates me and probably always will. The feeling, I assure you, is mutual.

Ah, the simplicity of the world manages to astound me yet again. After having read one of the greatest works of art in modern literature, “Shalimar the Clown” by Salman Rushdie, I knew that not many books will come close to offering the experience of this romantic, enchanting, heart-breaking masterpiece, one which I will review very soon (I need the right mood for it). But I had no idea that I would waste two weeks on one of the most tedious, most boring and pointless books in existence: the final part of the much hypes, overly discussed Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson. I was extremely pissed off during the reading of this useless brick, but I will take advantage of this post to review all three books, mostly because I don’t want it to be a series of insults. There are good aspects as well. Therefore, sit back and enjoy my commentary of a trilogy you really do not need to read. I will try to be as specific as possible, so you get the main points of interest without all the immense amount of FILLERS that a vast portion of the world’s population consider to be good literature.

My heart is about to force its way out of my throat. My skin is itching. I am afraid to go out of my room because the lights are off in the hall. Something dark is crawling beneath my skin. All this is the effect of one of the best movies I have ever seen. Black Swan. If my beloved Natalie Portman does not get an Oscar for this, there is no hope for Hollywood. Enjoy.

If my last post can be best described as a sponge of misery basked in a sea of anger, than this post will probably be the complete opposite. Well, maybe not complete, but still. A little more on the positive side of things. After all, it’s a Saturday right? That means that the Lab of Death is 2 whole days away, and there are no exams next week! Yay!

Due to popular demand (aprox. 10 people asked me why the F did I stop writing on my blog), and because I need one more excuse to do stuff on my comp which is NOT related to studying, and also because my bro has just told me that my domain will expire in 3 months if I don’t prolong it, I decided to return to my poor, overly ignored baby blog. Hmm, if it used to be a baby back in January, and it grew into a wee toddler in March-April, right now I suppose it could be cataloged as an ignored, angry pre-teen. Alas, time is fickle, and laziness is even more so.

So, back to me. The summer was, more or less a loss of time and life. The exam period was murder, and the remnants of July were felt throughout the summer. The autumn failed to bring much victory, but at least I managed to pass one exam. The other was cruelly kept from me, but fortunately, it is not without hope. During the actual summer holiday, there were only 2 weeks when I felt useful to myself and society: the weeks of summer practice. I met great people, truly inspiring and friendly, who were amazingly patient with me, and I will forever be in their debt. I am looking forward to seeing them again. I learned a lot, and I received fulfilling confirmation related to my theory: University does not equal Real Life. To the geeks who thrive on this concept: think again!

Finally, after the horrible tribulations in the early autumn, I received the ultimate gratification: Paris! Oh, la vie boheme Parisienne! My heart stays in Paris, and I weep for the white buildings with gorgeous iron railings and black roofs. For the endless boulevards and the falling autumn leaves. For the unequaled relationship between the old and the new. For the gold that kisses the countenance of kings and cherubs and gods. For the immortality of art and love. I will not tell the story of 4 best friends in Paris on this page because it is too long, too beautiful and I tell it better verbally, but a poem inspired by the experience will be available soon.

Now for current events. University sucks more than ever! Seriously, its level of suckiness is beyond all imagination. I am almost at a loss for words, but since I am back on the blog track, I will detail my frustration in entries to come.

However, the greatest suffering has come in the form of an eye infection. In some cultures it is known as aliens laying eggs in one’s eyes. In my native language it is known as “ulcior”. I have never had this crap before. It hurts when I blink, I feel my eye being raped, and it doesn’t help that I have to keep it covered in antibiotic almost all day long. Life has cheated me through dust or some kind of staphylococcus. I am told this is quite common, but it sucks when it happens to you! Damn you, left eye! And today, when my mum finally managed to drag me to the eye hospital (I have this issue with hospitals, and doctors, unless we are talking about Dr. House), I get this stupid piece of advice from the doctor who spent, oh, under 5 minutes on my inflamed eye: boost your immunity by:

1) ingest yeast (yeah, right, like that will happen)

2) drink milk with yeast in it (WTF)

3) become an alcoholic (well, not necessarily) by drinking unfiltered beer, since it contains yeast

4) some eco bull crap medicine

Now, the problem with number 3 is that I despise beer. I prefer wine, liquor, vodka, cocktails, cognac, champagne, and just about ANYTHING that doesn’t taste and smell like urine. Yes, I am a snob when it comes to booze. And no, I am not an ethanol abuser. But some Swedish coffee (that contains everything BUT coffee) never hurt anyone, hehe!

Alas, I must leave you, dear readers. And by dear readers I mean the poor people I am about to spam with my blog entry. Sorry, but do comment if you’ve enjoyed at least one paragraph of my nostalgic ramble. I would cry right now, because I missed you and I missed writing for you, and I missed my pretty background, but if I cried, I would get disgusting eye cream all over my face. Ewww. I am disgusted with myself.

And lastly, since I was too lazy to write a mini novel about Paris on this blog, I hope pictures really are worth 1000 words. Enjoy:

From the Eiffel Tower

the lucky bastards who saw Paris in all its glory!

Au Clair De La Lune, mon ami Tour Eiffel

if everything works out, that will be my future building...one of them

That fountain never works! Still, Versailles is gorgeous!

Notre Dame de Paris

Naughty boys!

Le Louvre: we saw it all (90%) in 3 hours! We are beyond godlike!

HAPPY! YAAAY! I SAW THE LOUVRE! MUST. GO. AGAIN.

view from the Arc du Triomphe...

Sun sets more beautifully in Paris

my best friends

me and my precious

Ok, so I have about 400 pics in total. You didn’t expect to see them all, did you?

Three weeks ago, when I realized in horror that House MD would come back with an episode on the 8th of March, I panicked and almost freaked out! I cannot leave without my House fix, I seriously cannot. I am addicted to it, and it’s probably not Hugh Laurie’s fault (yes it is, for being a damned genius), and I could not fathom my existence without my weekly fix. And finally, I am complete again. And the episode was absolutely splendid.
